Stephen Gamson born in 1965 is an American Artist from the communication age. His unique style is easily recognized for its bold colors, iconic symbols and mass appeal. Gamson’s optimistic art acts as a higher language that is universally understood. He spends most of his time creating paintings and sculptures that are playful, witty and relate to pop culture. His art is inspired by the panoramic views from his 63rd floor studio and events that take place in his life. The Miami Herald refers to his work as “incredibly visible and in demand”.
As a featured artist during Art Basel Miami BEach 2009, Gamson has shown in the Scope Art Fair, Art Miami, and The Red Dot Show. He was commissioned by Lamborghini of North America for a special Art Car project unveiled during the Miami Art Week.
In May 2009, Gamson was commissioned by Prince Albert II of Monaco to design a special piece presented at the 67th Monaco Grand Prix in Honor of the Princess Grace Foundation. A Gamson original is also in the Royal Family Collection of Monaco.
He has been commissioned by corporate and public entities, including Cafe Bustelo, Epicure Gourmet Market, The Miami Beach Polo World Cup, Select Vodka, and the City of Miami Beach, Brite Girl Magazine, Tampa Bay Luxury Guide, and Coldwell Banker. He is an official artist for the national and international charities such as Project Sunshine, The Ronald McDonald House, The Down Syndrome Association of Miami, Pink and Blue for Two, Step by Step foundation, Kristi House, and The Special Olympics. Gamson also volunteers his time and donates countless pieces in the name of philanthropy to many other worthwhile causes.
